I happen to be one of those people who can eat most things and not put on any extra weight and there is no reason for me to be on a weight controlling diet. However, my loving wife feels that she must limit her food intake so that she does not gain any extra pounds and has gone on a diet which , unfortunately, means that I am also on that diet. I call it "The Half Diet".
There are some food items that I like to eat but she will not buy because she will not eat them so I am forced to go shopping for them myself. For example, if I bring home sub sandwiches for lunch, she will cut one in half and we will each have a half. Along with the sub sandwich I also buy a plastic carton containing two small slices of cheesecake but she will not eat a whole one of the slices so one is cut in half and we will each get a thin sliver of cheesecake for dessert.
Sometimes I like to have something tasty at breakfast such as a doughnut or a cinnamon muffin, but never a whole one, only a half because she will not eat a whole one. The same thing with bananas. If we have cereal, only half a banana is allowed with it. I did not know that bananas were fattening.
Another one of my favorites is pizza, but when I bring home a frozen one, she will immediately cut it in half and store a half in the freezer. We will only have half a pizza for lunch. We will eventually get to eat the other half but some of the good stuff I buy is divided in half and stored in the freezer for later. The only problem with putting a half a box of dougnuts in the freezer is that I will probably never see them again. Somehow they manage to disappear or maybe, just a thought, maybe someone in the house is eating them. No, she wouldn't do that.
